Club History

We've come a long way since 1947

It all started on just 30 acres of land on Pfingsten and Lake Cook Rd. in Northbrook, Illinois.

Club Governance and Membership

The Club is governed by a 15-member board of directors, elected to three-year terms on a rotating basis.

  • Four directors are also officers of the Club: President, vice president, secretary, and treasurer. They serve two-year terms.

  • The board meets at 7p.m. on the third Wednesday of every month in the clubhouse and members are welcomed to attend.

  • There is an annual membership meeting held in November of each year. At that point directors are elected and the membership may vote on other issues of importance.

  • At certain times special meetings are held to seek member approval for projects that exceed the spending limits outlined in our by-laws.

  • A copy of the by-laws is always available in the Clubhouse and you may request one at the front desk.

Growth Through the Years

Currently, Northbrook Sports Club lies on 735 acres of land in Hainesville, Illinois with over 1600 members. We continue to progress forward through the creation of various programs and events. Events that have called Northbrook home include the World FITASC, US Open, North Central Regional, and the North American FITASC. Further accomplishments include the creation of our youth team, the Golden BBs and our partnership with the Annie Oakley Shooters of Northern Illinois. The Golden BBs introduces shotgun sports to future generations and passes down timeless traditions. In 2023, Northbrook Sports Club hosted Illinois' first ever all female registered sporting clay tournament alongside the Annie Oakley Shooters of Illinois.

While these feats are strong milestones, we continue to push the barrier and bring excellence to our members and guests.
