Northbrook Sports Club was founded in 1947 in Northbrook, Illinois. In 1987, we moved to Hainesville, Illinois to expand our facilities and offer more to our members. Our facility is more than just a sporting clay and skeet shooting range. We are a community committed to preserving the beauty of the outdoors and educating our visitors about conservation and outdoor sportsmanship. We offer a variety of courses and instruction designed to meet the needs of all skill levels. From beginner courses for those who have never picked up a gun, to the seasoned competitor looking for more challenging targets, we have something for everyone to enjoy. Our focus on education, safety, and fun has earned us a reputation as one of the premier sporting clay facilities in the world. Today, we stand at over 1,500 members on 735 acres of rolling countryside.

Clay Target Disciplines

Northbrook Sports Club takes pride in having a wide variety of disciplines for shooters to participate in. We have 4 Sporting Clay Courses, indoor and outdoor 5-Stand, American Field Sporting, FITASC, 10 Skeet Fields, and 2 Trap Fields.

No matter what your specialty is, we have a home for you.

Skeet

In this discipline, participants use a shotgun to shoot at clay targets, commonly known as "clay pigeons," which are launched into the air from two trap houses. The skeet field, is designed with a semi-circular layout featuring seven shooting stations, with one station located at each end and one in the center.

Sporting Clays

Sporting clays is a form of clay target shooting that simulates the unpredictability of live-quarry shooting scenarios. Unlike traditional trap or skeet shooting, where targets follow fixed paths, sporting clays involves a series of stations, each with different shooting angles, target speeds, and flight paths.

Trap

Trap shooting has been around since the 18th century. This discipline involves using a shotgun to shoot at clay targets that typically move away from the shooter. The targets are launched from a single trap house in the center of the field.

FITASC

Is an international form of sporting clays. There are 100 targets shot over 4 different parcours with 25 targets at each parcour. Participants are not on a stand, but will rotate through 3 pegs. This discipline will have a challenging set of rules included.

Clay Shooting Sports can improve hand-eye coordination, increase focus, and promote relaxation. It's a fun way to spend time outdoors and learn new skills. We welcome shooters of all skill levels and are dedicated to providing a safe and enjoyable experience to learn any discipline.

At Northbrook Sports Cub, we know the importance of proper gun maintenance. That’s why we’re dedicated to ensuring that your firearm is cleaned and properly maintained. Rental Items

Golf Carts

We have two seater golf cart rentals available daily for $25.00 during the week and $30.00 on the weekend. These are first come first serve.

Lockers

Lockers are available for a yearly fee on a first come first serve basis for $90.00. A waiver must be signed. Contact the Clubhouse for availability.

Garages

Garages are available to rent at various tiered prices on a first come first serve basis. Please contact the Clubhouse for availability.

Gun Rental

Shotguns are available to rent daily for $25.00. You do not have to be a member to rent, but you do need to be with a member. A waiver is required.

We understand the need for a fluffy pillow and a relaxing atmosphere after a long day of shooting.
