Mission & Charge
The strength and reputation of Northbrook Sports Club rest not only on our programs and achievements, but on the quality, care, and pride we invest in our campus. As we continue to position NSC as the premier clay shooting venue in the country, the stewardship of our grounds, buildings, and structures remains essential to delivering an exceptional member experience.
The Buildings & Grounds Committee is charged with working collaboratively and actively with the Buildings & Grounds Chairman and the General Manager to:

Maintain, improve, and enhance the physical condition of the Club’s current campus.

Evaluate and prioritize needs related to infrastructure, grounds, and facility care.

Ensure our member experience is excellent and consistent across all areas of the property.

Provide hands-on engagement and practical solutions, not just oversight.

Bring forward ideas, expertise, and energy to strengthen the long-term functionality and aesthetics of our Club.

Assist leadership with developing the Preventive Maintenance schedule.

Identify and execute committee-assigned Preventive Maintenance tasks.
This committee is seeking members who are willing to contribute their time, talent, and passion to the continual upkeep and improvement of the property. Just as our personal homes and land require ongoing care, so does our Club, and it must be done with intent, pride, and purpose. Whether your background is professional or personal, vocation, or avocation, your participation matters.

Social Committee
Mission & Charge
The Northbrook experience is defined not only by great shooting but by the friendships, camaraderie, and shared memories created here. The Social Committee exists to design and deliver a vibrant, year-round calendar of social activities that bring members together, strengthen relationships, and deepen each member’s connection to the Club.
The Social Committee is charged with working collaboratively with the Committee Chairman and Assistant Manager to:
• Develop a comprehensive 12-month schedule of social activities that engages a wide range of member interests.
• Design programs that foster interaction, camaraderie, and fun, encouraging members to connect beyond the shooting fields.
• Create events that welcome families and guests, strengthening the broader Northbrook community.
• Take responsibility for the development and execution of each program, including:

staffing coordination (set-up, event support, and clean-up)

budgeting and post-event review
• Actively promote participation and personally model engagement by attending and supporting events.

Finance Committee
Mission & Charge
The long-term success of Northbrook Sports Club depends on sound financial stewardship, disciplined budgeting, and strategic resource management. Consistent revenue growth, prudent expense control, and thoughtful capital investment ensure that members continue to enjoy best-in-class facilities, programs, and services, while maintaining the financial strength to weather economic uncertainty and unforeseen challenges.
The Finance Committee is charged with working collaboratively with the Treasurer and the General Manager to:

Periodically review the Club’s Financial Philosophy to ensure alignment with core financial principles and long-term goals.

Develop the annual operating and capital budgets for the Board of Directors' recommendation and approval.

Prepare and maintain five-year financial projections, providing strategic insight into future operating and capital needs.

Annually review and recommend insurance coverage, including property, casualty, and Directors & Officers policies.

Periodically review and advise on employee benefits.

Evaluate Club technology and information systems, including cybersecurity considerations, risk exposure, and resource adequacy.

Monitor financial performance against approved budgets, providing insight and recommendations when adjustments are warranted.

Prepare a concise quarterly financial report for communication to the membership, providing transparency and reinforcing confidence in the Club’s financial stewardship.

Provide input on pricing for food, shells, pro shop, and other services.
Through this work, the Finance Committee helps safeguard the Club’s assets, supports informed decision-making, and strengthens the Club’s ability to invest in its future.

Corporate & Charitable Events Committee

The demand for charitable gatherings and corporate entertainment at Northbrook Sports Club continues to grow, driven by members who seek to support worthy causes and host professional engagements in a premier setting. These events not only reflect the spirit and generosity of our membership but also provide important supplemental revenue that strengthens the Club’s financial position and supports its ongoing development.
The Corporate & Charitable Events Committee is charged with working collaboratively with the Committee Chairman and the General Manager to:

Develop clear policies and standard operating procedures for the use of Club facilities, including fees, usage parameters, and protocols.

Establish standards for the utilization of Club resources, facilities, and personnel, ensuring consistency, fairness, and operational clarity.

Create a uniform Banquet Event Order (BEO) to streamline planning and communication for all events.

Define deposit and cancellation guidelines that protect the Club’s interests and uphold professional standards.

Ensure all events reflect Northbrook’s values, with safety, member experience, and financial contribution as top priorities.

Evaluate opportunities to align events with member engagement and philanthropic purpose, while maintaining strong protection of Club assets and identity.
Through this work, the committee will help set expectations for both the Club and our event sponsors, ensuring that each gathering is conducted with clarity, integrity, and alignment with Northbrook’s standards of excellence.

Instructor Committee
Mission & Charge
Introducing new participants to the clay shooting sports is essential to the long-term viability of the sport and central to the mission of Northbrook Sports Club. Certified instructors play a critical role in welcoming new shooters, teaching proper technique, ensuring safe practices, and modeling appropriate etiquette across all shooting disciplines. Ongoing instruction for intermediate and advanced shooters further enhances skill, confidence, and enjoyment of the sport.
Members and guests who participate in formal instruction at Northbrook should experience best-in-class professionalism, service, and safety standards at all times.
The Instructor Committee is charged with working collaboratively with the Committee Chairman and the Outdoor Facilities Manager to:

Define and steward the Northbrook Instructor brand, including expectations of quality, professionalism, and conduct.
-
Ensure all instructors hold a valid certification appropriate to their instructional activities.
-
Verify current certificates of insurance for each instructor, naming Northbrook Sports Club as an additional insured.
-
Establish and enforce appropriate Club instructional fees and ensure proper payment and reporting.
-
Ensure all students complete required waivers and comply with Board-approved policies prior to instruction.

Develop standards for scheduling, visibility, and marketing for visiting and approved instructors.

Formalize and enhance each instructor’s profile on the Instructor Page, ensuring accurate credentials, areas of specialty, contact protocols, and a consistent Northbrook brand presentation.

Promote opportunities for member-based instructors to give back, including a requirement of 10 hours of pro bono instruction annually in support of Club programming.

Support a culture of safety and excellence in all instructional activities on the property.
Through these efforts, the Instructor Committee ensures a consistent, safe, and exceptional instructional experience that reflects Northbrook’s standing as a premier clay shooting venue.

To uphold the unique Northbrook experience that our current membership expects, and to ensure the Club’s long-term viability, we must continuously recruit, retain, and cultivate high-quality members who share our passion for our sport and our commitment to the community.
The Membership Development Committee is charged with working collaboratively with the Membership Development Chairman to:

Identify and connect with prospective members through personal outreach and relationship-building.

Invite qualified candidates to visit the campus and experience the Club firsthand.

Strategically leverage gatherings and events outside the Club to expand visibility and broaden outreach, including development of a branded booth recruitment asset.

Support recruitment efforts during charitable and corporate events held at the Club, maximizing opportunities for connection.

Engage systematically with the waiver-release database to develop an actionable prospect pipeline and execute a clear recruitment strategy.

Provide ongoing feedback and insight into membership trends, opportunities, and challenges. Review our online presence and recommend improvements to bolster influence.

Develop an impactful marketing strategy, including collateral materials and digital and hard-copy resources.
